Hello, Lovely! ♥
So, how's your June? I'm not pretty good, but I'd love to update my blogs right now. Today, I wanna review a magazine. What? A magazine? Sure?
Yes! This magazine is very popular among Japanese, especially Gyaru lover. This magazine is not issued every month. This magazine is quarterly issued. But I dunno, perhaps I have to make some friends from Japan and ask them all of the meaning. My Japanese is very sucks ! >_<
This is Jelly and it is not regularly issued. It is definitely "special edition"! Here, I wanna review the latest 盛れる!! Jelly Magazine I got. It is issued at April, 2nd. It's not too old, indeed. I scanned some of my favorite parts. I won't review the whole magazine because it is kinda piracy form. So, if you are interested into it, you can purchase it :)
I was interested to purchase this magazine because... I dunno, it's JELLY! LOL. I love Jelly more than other magazines. And I know that this edition is hard to find. So, I don't have to think twice, right? ;)
Can you guess the beauty trends do they describe here? ;) The cover gives you some clue!
And these are some my favorite scans:
1. Flawless Base Make Up
3. Beauty Trends!

♥♥♥ Cover (5/5):
Basically, the cover is quite clear. It tells you about "make up transformation" by putting small "before" photo on the left part and the cover itself is "after" photo. The fonts is quite big and dominant each other, but it doesn't look too much! Great cover.
Can you guess the beauty trends do they describe here? ;) The cover gives you some clue!
And these are some my favorite scans:
1. Flawless Base Make Up
Model by Izuoka Misaki
Model by Remi Sakamoto
Yes, flawless base make up is important! Very important. They give some base make up tips. Izu is into silky finish and Remi is shiny one. Both of them are look so flawless, pretty and doesn't look too much.
The differences:
1. Izu makes silky finish by tapping a towel on her face.
2. Remi gives brightener to make her face shinier.
2. An "awkwardness safety" make up
Model by Izuoka Misaki
Actually, I have no idea why this trend is exist -_____- It's focused on your eye make up but it saves you from laziness. Laziness of putting make up on :/
This trend is somewhat absurd, but well, you will find many Japanese girls are using surgical mask everywhere.
Perhaps, they're afraid of bacteria? Dunno :P
3. Beauty Trends!
Pink Shadow by Remi Sakamoto & Orange Brown by Mari Takahashi
Hot Pink by Remi Sakamoto & Neon Orange by Rina Ohashi
Blue Color Liner by Mari Takahashi & Brown Liner by Rina Ohashi
Yes, 6 trademarks! In Japan, Gyaru seems "decreasing" everyday and Japanese girls are tend to be natural, or edgy. They are more into street style, harajuku style and western style. Neo Gal is one of the latest trend in Japan. Neo Gal is playing more bold colors and based on this article, Neo Gal is a mixture of Harajuku style and Western style.
6 keys: Orange Brown Eyeshadow, Pink Eyeshadow, Neon Orange lips, Hot Pink lips, Brown Eyeliner and Blue color liner.
Plays bright and bold colors, right? ;)
4. Mistakes of some trends
Trendy girls will never want to lose her track about fashion and make up trends. However, they can fall into some mistakes. And in make up, it will be a disaster!
Here are the mistakes:
Left-Right, Top-Bottom:
1. Too thick eyebrow
It tells us that Japanese girls are also obsessed of thick eyebrows. Like some Korean girls do, they make their eyebrow thicker and brow color has exact color with their hair. However, they can be wrong when they draw their brow.
2. The blusher is too high
"Drunken face" is getting more popular today. Not only for Harajuku girls, but also other Japanese girls do this kind of make up. However, it can't be wrong applied. As you can see the pic, this girl looks like a clown before (on right pic), not drunken face one.
3. Too pink make up
Pink is somewhat popular on make up, EVERY TIME. You will never fail when you have pink color on your face. And it is similar to no. 2, you can not apply it wrong. This girl looks fattier because of her pinky make up.
And these mistakes is solved by make up artist. You can simply check it on the scans :P
5. Diamond Beauty's New Collection Debut
(Okay, Remi is everywhere -_-)
Diamond Beauty is a very popular cosmetic brand in Japan. They're drugstore products and they're very affordable in a good quality :D They have loose powder, eyebrow kit, nose shading kit and so on, but the most popular products they have is eyelashes! They have produced many kinds of lashes in different series. One series One color!
Diamond lash is their biggest eyelash brand and they produce many kinds of lashes. They also claim themselves as No. 1 Eyelashes in Japan because of they can sold 7 packs in a minute!
Here, they have new collections in Orange color. This orange series is kinda natural. So natural. Let say, they move into much more natural make up. They don't skip their lashes but they change it into natural one :D
6. Surgical Cosmetic
HAHA, people might think this make up tips is for girls who are having their faces changed by the knife.
No, it's no! It is about "smaller" face effect without having plastic surgery. You can see that they have 2 foundations in different shade :) One is an exact one with their face and the other is darker, much darker. It can be 2-3 shades darker.
The big photos are the place they put their darker foundation on and the light one is a highlighter substitute. You can see the light one is used on the other 4 photos and finish it by applying setting powder.
AND.... They have special booklets in it. The booklets is talking about 5 essential make up kits for Japanese girl make up. Why are they essential?
As its title in Japanese, it will give you big "different" impact on your appearance.
Model by Remi Sakamoto
1. Color contact lens!
They are somewhat important for Japanese girl make up these days. They love to put lenses on their eyes because it makes them looks sweet or sexy or fierce, depends on their make up, too. Mostly, they put brown contact lens because they believe that brown lens is natural and suits them best.
2. Eyelashes
Whatever your eye shape is, lashes is important! It shows you many kinds of eye shape and eyelashes model on to those eyes.
3. Eye bag
Yes, eye bag. People were used to hate eye bag because it looks tired, dull and having sleepless face. There are some different tricks to make "namida bukuro".
4. Eyelash Extension
Eh, extension (?) I do really have no idea. They can find many cheap eyelashes there but why, they have some extensions ... -___-
The extensions effect makes a bigger effect and keep natural. I think this is just.. effortless. No need to put eyelash on everyday, just extend it :x
5. Double Eyelid
This trend is still "in". I think girls want to have double eyelid. However, many Japanese girls are having mono lid (me, too. But I'm not Japanese XD) It is just.. a must! They wanna make double eyelid make up everyday! Lucky you if you have double eye lid T___T
♥♥♥ Contents (4/5):
Well, I'm not really interested into its content. I feel that the trends seems so boring. It's classic, but too ordinary. It informs you about soft and clean make up, and it's just common, imo .... But the things I love very much is the contents always good to read. You can find the latest trend, good step-by-step make up tutorial and other inspiring make up tips!
♥♥♥ Tips and Trick Explanation (4/5):
If you rarely read Japanese kind of book, it will be very difficult since they have different side to read. They are not into left to right, but right to left -_- But well, the explanation is clear. So clear! The tricks are so unpredictable and worth to try.
♥♥♥ Design (5/5):
Their design itself are cool. Can't agree more. Kinda creative and different topic has different theme. Yuhuu.
The scores is 4.5. I think it is worth to buy for make up beginners or people who wants to know about Japanese make up itself. It is not really good for Professional since this is not for professional one.
Then, it comes into my FOTD!
What do you think about this magazine? Looks good? If you are interested into it, I remind you, to buy it on Japanese bookstores in your area. I got mine from Kinokuniya Store at Grand Indonesia Mall, Jakarta.
And, Thanks for reading, Lovely! ♥
